Rob Ford on Cyclists

Rob Ford is a Toronto city councillor representing über-suburban Etobicoke North Ward 2. And he is running for the position of Toronto city mayor.

wiki article

sample: “I can’t support bike lanes. How many people are riding outside today? We don’t live in Florida. We don’t have 12 months a year to ride on the bikes. And what I compare bike lanes to is swimming with the sharks.”

So at least he recognizes that there is a problem with current road design standards: the sharks. To me, this means the other users need to be protected from them. To Rob Ford, it means there should be no other users.
